Dhamma Bodhi
Bodh Gaya Vipassana Centre

Vipassana meditation as taught by S. N. Goenka
in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin

About Dhamma Bodhi

Surrounded by long stretches of fertile agricultural fields and a university campus, and being about 4 km away from town, Dhamma Bodhi’s rural calm is an ideal setting for serious meditation. The simple 18-acre centre with its fruit trees and well-kept vegetable gardens can accommodate about 80 students in single and double room cottages with attached bathrooms. From November to February, Dhamma Bodhi attracts many foreigners from all over the world who want to put the Buddha’s teachings into practice—so registering in advance is recommended. Courses attract fewer students at other times. Ten-day courses start the 1st and 16th of every month. Meditators and servers, short or long term, are always welcome.

Travel to and from the centre is not difficult as there are plenty of taxis, cycle-rickshaws, and auto-rickshaws available from Bodhgaya.
